I received my New Bambino Diapers last week and I have had a good chance to look at them and test them out fully before doing this review. I wanted to do a complete and thorough review of this diaper since there seems to be a lot of misnomers and falsehoods out there. So, here we go.

The New Bambino Diaper comes with a brand new and very cute print on it that I actually like better than any of the other prints on the market…it doesn’t look too fake but more resembles a baby diaper print which I like. The best way I could describe it is that it looks like the “Hello Kitty” type graphic…here is a quick photo of the face of the diaper.

Front of New Bambino Diaper

The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the bag besides the cute print was that it was definitely a bit thicker than the Bambino Classico, Classico, or Teddy. We are not talking inches thicker so don’t go exaggerating what I am saying but its noticeable. After I let it sit out for awhile you can definitely tell that it gets a bit thicker after it decompresses. Many people are wanting to compare the thickness factor to other brands of diapers. This point is not a big deal to me because I don’t like having a super bulging diaper that I can’t wear in public. But, I would say besides a Dry 24/7 or Abena X-Plus…it is thicker than most every other diaper – especially after you let it decompress. When I say it is not as thick – we are talking centimeters…negligible amounts basically unless you want to nitpick. Here are a few comparison photos with a Secure X-Plus adult diaper and the New Bambino Diaper:

New Bambino and Secure X-plus Diapers Comparison

New Bambino and Secure X-plus Diapers Comparison Photo

New Bambino and Secure X-plus Diapers Side Photo

I left both these diapers out for over 24 hours and you can definitely see that the New Bambino is thicker than the Secure X-Plus diaper…again its not huge amounts. I did notice a lot of thickness was in the SEAT of the diaper which I appreciate and I like the feeling of a little more padding in the seat of the diaper. Honestly, the whole thickness factor is really sort of inconsequential to me as long as its not super thin. The performance, absorbency, and fit are the most important things to me in a diaper and in those categories the New Bambino Diaper in my opinion beats it’s competition.

Absorbency: Bambino advertised that this diaper has more absorbency and they were not kidding. While I am no scientist about it – I like to think I am a pretty good judge of diaper capacity since I wear full time. The New Bambino Diaper definitely had a little more powerful absorbency than the other Bambino Diapers did and in my opinion, is the best absorbency diaper you can buy. They use the most SAP in their diaper which is what does most of the absorption. A lot of other companies want you to think their diaper is absorbent and use wood pulp or “fluff” in their diaper which doesn’t absorb much at all but makes a diaper look thicker. Bambino uses a lot more SAP which makes the diaper the most absorbent diaper on the market.

Performance: I thought the performance was just as good as the other Bambino Diapers – maybe a little better in terms of wicking the urine away from you so as to prevent diaper rash. But, it was a perfect combination with the absorbency I think to get maximum use out of this diaper.

Comfort: The fit is PERFECT on me now…the sizing is a little different (not much) but a little – just enough to make the fit perfect on me now! Which made me happy – I know some people are a little different sizes so this can vary but the fit is really important to me and is where this diaper shines in my mind as well. Besides that, the INNER LINING of the diaper is SOFTER also in my opinion…not sure what they did but I compared the softness to the Bambino Bianco and while they are both soft – you can tell a difference and it feels really nice against the body.

Appearance: The appearance I think is really well done this time and I think they put a lot of time into it. They are even having a naming contest of the diaper on their Facebook page where you can win free diapers from them basically. I think the cuteness factor of the diaper is one of the best out there.

Tapes: The tapes have been as secure as the original Bambino Diapers – I have not experienced any tapes popping off but then again I am not squeezing into the diapers. If you are trying to squeeze into the diaper or any diaper for that matter – tapes may pop but based on my experience and some others – this does not seem to be the case for the majority of people.

Price: While the price has gone up – this is probably the only negative but then again you can’t really call it a negative if they put more money into making the diaper better plus the fact that its a unique diaper. The combination of better absorbency, better fit, performance, and a cute print on it make the price worth it to ME! Others will of course feel different based on what they think is appropriate and their own preferences.

Close up of new bambino diaper

I have always been a loyal fan of Bambino Diapers because of their professionalism in designing these diapers. They obviously put time into designing and making these adult diapers for the ABDL community exclusively. I am not going to complain about that at all. Their customer service is unmatched – especially if you have a problem. If you have a problem with their diaper such as you received a defective product they are very quick and good about replacing that product for you if it occurs. They also listen to their customers…hence this diaper. We all wanted a different print – well we got one with a bit more thickness and absorbency. They have always listened in my opinion – and if something is defectively wrong with any diaper – they will fix the problem. You have to respect that in a company because not all of them do that.

Overall: The New Bambino Diaper is a phenomenal adult diaper with probably the best absorbency and performance on the market. While it is not the “Thickest” diaper on the market – it is not too far off either. The cute print appeals to me and is definitely a big positive as I think it is more babyish than a lot of other prints on the market. I am not one too look for the thickest diaper visually but I care more about how a diaper absorbs and performs and when it comes to that – this New Bambino Diaper is unmatched in MY opinion. The fit is perfect on me but this is highly variable to everyone else as some people will like the fit and others won’t. Just how that part goes. I think it is a GREAT addition to the Bambino Diaper line of products and if you can you should definitely check it out. The price is a little bit more right now but understandable in my opinion considering the added absorbency, performance, cute print, and uniqueness of the diaper.

Note: These are my opinions and my experience with the diaper – everyone is going to have a different experience – good, bad, better, worse – I LOVE this new diaper – someone else might not or think its not worth it. Definitely understandable as everyone is different and wants different things. Overall, you have to give a company credit for giving good customer service and producing great products for our community in the end because not many companies do that.

So, I wanted to show everyone how I usually do my Bambino Diapers when I am going out for a long night (i.e. Friday or Saturday night with friends). So, last night before I went out with Peter and some of our friends I took a photo of how I usually do my diaper.

Notice how you can see where I place the booster for ME. I place it more in the seat of the diaper but for males, at least Peter, he places his booster usually towards the front of the diaper more in order to absorb the urine better. But, I usually wear a nice booster in the seat of a Bambino Diaper or Molicare or whatever diaper I choose to wear that night and that usually provides me the protection I need for a long time.

In case you were wondering, yes these are the older Bambino Diapers – I have some still laying around – note the blue on the waistband.

So, I have gotten this question multiple times on whether I think the Secure X-Plus or the Bambino Diaper Classico, Teddy, or Bianco are more absorbent. In my opinion, they are all the same top absorbency. These adult diapers make up the epitome of absorbent diapers on the market but they are all the same in my experience when it comes to absorbency. It just comes down to the design and what you like. Do you want a plain all white adult diaper – then go for the Bianco! Do you like Teddy Bears – then get the Teddy Bambino! Do you like baby blocks – then get the Bambino Classico! And, finally if you want a neutral non-babyish print design but want still a print on the diaper then get the Secure X-Plus. They are all phenomenal adult diapers with the best absorbency on the market but they are all the same in terms of absorbency. I buy all of them just sort of depending on my mood – there is something unique about the Secure X-Plus that I do like! But, I love the new Teddy design on the new Bambino Diapers so I do get them as well…but I am a sucker for the classics that Bambino makes (i.e. the Classico and Bianco). There is something for unique about a really thick all white diaper. It just depends on my mood, honestly. But, hopefully that clears up any questions on whether there are differences. If you have any other questions – just let me know and I will try to respond to you!

Buying adult diapers can be a complex process for some people based on their needs. Many people you would be surprised to find out that they know nothing about buying diapers online such as Abena, Bambino Diapers, Molicare, Secure, etc etc. They probably haven’t seen these brands in their local stores so they know nothing about them. All they know is what the store gives them and hence are missing out on a lot of features that some of the best adult diapers provide. So, their choice is simple for the most part because the selection is so limited in stores and the quality is so poor. But, for the rest of the people that have discovered the advantage to ordering adult diapers online have come to find that it can be a complex choice on which ones to go with based on a lot of different factors.

I know for me when I look at buying adult diapers and which ones I choose to ‘invest’ in I go for the best quality (i.e. best absorbency, tapes, etc) because this in essence will allow the diaper to last longer and takes a lot of the worries about leaking out of the picture. Price is also a major factor in buying adult diapers…probably the biggest factor for a lot of people. I for one am a fan of an “all in one” price meaning that the shipping is built into the price and your just paying for what is advertised. I hate getting to the end of a checkout cart and then seeing any amount extra added onto shipping – that always makes me hesitate to buy things because no matter how much it is, its a mental thing for me. Some of the big players in the adult diaper world do this all in one pricing and I think its a huge advantage.

One thing to look at when comparing adult diapers (especially premium adult diapers) is not only their features that come with it but the cost per unit. That means if a case if $50 for example and you are getting 40 diapers then the cost per diaper is $1.25. This is important to take into consideration because while one sites price may appear cheaper for a case – it may just have more or less diapers in the case.

There are many tricks that some companies will enact that you may be unaware of…I will demonstrate one way companies do this. It is a prime example and nothing against the company – it is just how they lure you into buying their diapers. ABUniverse offers their Cushy diapers for $99 for 80 diapers…that puts the price at $1.24 per diaper basically. This is disregarding the fact that the Cushy diapers aren’t as absorbent or have as many features as some of the best adult diapers like Abena X-Plus, Bambino, Secure, Molicare…but anyways back to the point. ABUniverse is going to charge you shipping now which significantly increases the price per diaper. UNLESS, you spend $100…then you get free shipping…so they made the price $99 ($1 below $100) so now you have to buy something else to get that free shipping which may not be a problem for some but for those counting the pennies – this may be an issue. This is just one of those techniques some diaper companies employ to lure you into purchasing their diapers.

This does not even take into account the features of the adult diapers – absorbency, tapes, fit, leg gather effectiveness, material used, clumping, etc. Many of these features are extremely important and should definitely be considered…like clumping…while it does not seem like a big issue it can be a big issue in various ways. If a diaper clumps for one it can be uncomfortable for the user because now you have this huge clump of material in your diaper. Second, it DECREASES absorbency of the diaper because now you don’t have a lot of material covering where you urinate.

Many of you may already know all this but these are just prime examples of things you should at least think about before choosing to buy adult diapers. Adult diaper companies can use various tactics to lure you into buying a product even if it is inferior by disguising it with either just the look of the diaper (to make it look absorbent when it really isn’t) or to make it seem cheaper when its really not (either by not taking into account shipping or the diaper is so inferior to other diapers that you are not getting your money’s worth). I am a penny pincher in all honesty – so these are things I think about when I choose to buy my adult diapers…which for the record is typically Bambino Diapers, Secure Personal Care (which are now offered on Bambino’s website), and XP Medical. These are the most trusted sources in my mind over the years…not to say others aren’t – but these are my go to stores for anything I really need.

I finally got my hands on Bambino Diapers new Teddy Bambino Diaper. I thought I would do a nice review of the adult diaper. It really is an amazing diaper and I absolutely love the new design…its super cute. So, first I will start off with a picture of the new Teddy Bambino Diaper:

This is obviously the package they came in…they arrived in a normal unmarked case and then they are designated in these clean looking white packs. You can see the little teddy bear designs already on the front of the diaper panel. I just love the look of a nice clean package of these. They look so cute. Great for organizing I must say because the package is a perfect size. Anyways, onto the review:

Appearance: The new Teddy Bambino Diaper design is really a beautiful and cute design in my opinion. The bears are not too big and not too small. They really do a nice job of resembling a baby diaper but in adult size. The front panel is also a “matted” type finish which I LOVE because its not just a tape anymore – its built directly into the plastic of the diaper. The diaper all around is all white besides the front panel which is obviously the cute teddy bear designs. Here is a picture of it up close:

So, as you can see the Teddy Bambino front panel is super cute atleast in my opinion. Of course the diaper is all PLASTIC and NO CLOTH.

Absorbency: The absorbency in the new Teddy Bambino Diaper is phenomenal. They actually improved the absorbency they said by adding about 10% more polymer to make these adult diapers even more absorbent then previous versions. I think a lot of people would agree that these are probably the most absorbent adult diaper on the market that you can get. I am one of those people that I agree with that. It is really hard to make this diaper leak…believe me I tried. So, I give an A++++ to absorbency and say Bambino Diapers definitely improved upon the absorbency factor even more. The diaper leaves plenty of room for defecation if you use the diaper to poop in or have bowel incontinence. The seat of the diaper definitely allows for that which is a nice feature that not all adult diapers possess.

Comfort: The Bambino Teddy Diaper has about the same comfortable feeling as all the other Bambino Diapers. The only thing that has really changed is the addition of more polymer for added absorbency and a new front panel along with new and improved stretch tapes (get to those down below). The inner lining of the Teddy Bambino is super soft…not sure what they use to make it so soft inside but if you compare it to other adult diapers – it really is a lot softer. Not sure how they do that buts its crazy soft!

Tapes: Bambino Diapers added all new tapes to the Teddy Bambino…they are stretch tapes which actually BEND with you and move with you so they add a bit more flexibility to the diaper which is nice for night time wearers who toss and turn in the night. It also just adds a bit more maneuverability I noticed when I was wearing it. That little extra stretch definitely adds a bit more comfort and flexibility to the diaper as a whole. Plus, you can re-tape the diaper on as always if you have to take it off or undo it for some reason which is a nice feature as always. I did notice a select few people having problems with 1 tape breaking on them and I have yet to have that happen but I think most people are agreeing that the cause is if you put it on too tight. You don’t want to fully stretch the tape on as you tape up the diaper otherwise when it goes to actually try to “flex” it wont flex it all. So, my advice is to not put it on super tight – this goes for all diapers…most tape problems are due to user error putting them on too tight and then soaking them – try not making it uber tight and it should fix any issues if you actually have any. Here is a picture of the tapes:

Customer Service: As always if ANYTHING goes wrong with the diaper – Bambino Diapers will be pretty quick to help you. You can call them or email them – and any problems you have with the diaper they typically respond to you within 24 hours if not a lot sooner…that has been my experience.

Overall: Overall I think Bambino Diapers took a big step in the right direction with the new Teddy Bambino Diaper. It really adds a whole new product to the adult baby and diaper lover collection of adult diapers. For me, this diaper is a staple in my collection and I will probably order a case of the Teddy Bambinos and a case of the Classico each month – peppering in some Biancos there too. There really isn’t that much I would improve about this diaper…its more absorbent then I could probably handle and its plenty thick feeling and very babyish. Its honestly what I always thought of as the perfect adult baby diaper. I know everyone has their own opinion on what makes the perfect adult baby diaper – but this comes pretty darn close if not it for me. Just thankful a company actually goes out of their way to make products like this for the adult baby and diaper lover community. Here is a photo of the diaper itself:

If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I will try to help.

Baby diapers and adult diapers may seem very similar to many people but in many aspects, they are very different. The needs for babies and adults are similar but different in many respects and I will go through them. Many of the adult babies and diaper lovers out there want just a bigger version of the baby diapers. While, in my opinion, this can be achieved to some extent – the design characteristics, absorbency, and other factors have to be changed to conform to the adult body and it’s needs.

Absorbency
Baby diapers are made with not only absorbency in mind BUT they aren’t meant to be completely soaked to the brim and sat in for hours upon hours. This is a major difference between many of the adult diapers and baby diapers. Many of the people who wear adult diapers either have to be in a diaper for a longer period of time or choose to stay in a wet or messy diaper for a longer period of time. This is not the case when it comes to baby diapers. Many baby diapers are wet or defecated in once or twice and then changed quite soon after because the risk of chaffing, uncomfortableness, etc comes into play with babies. So, the absorbency of many baby diapers is not designed to hold the maximum amount but rather the average void usually of a baby since most babies do not sit in their diapers for more than an hour or so. While, adult diapers are made with maximum absorbency and is a important factor in buying adult diapers. Adults want good absorbency because they can’t always change their diaper whenever it needs to be changed nor can they risk the chance of leaks of any sort as that would be humiliating to many adults.

Design
The comfort and fit is important both to babies and adults but different factors come into play with each. Most babies bodies are quite similar for the most part while adults body shapes vary. For example, babies thighs can vary but for the most part are fairly similar in size/diameter; but, adults thighs can differ by several inches sometimes in diameter which makes a huge difference in what diaper is going to work for you. Some adult diapers are made with larger leg openings to accommodate larger thighs while some other adult diapers have smaller leg openings that will probably still fit but may be a little tight.

Waistbands are typically an important characteristic in adult diapers because adults like the diaper to hug their waistline and it helps to prevent leaks out of the top of the diaper. This characteristic is not as popular in baby diapers but it does exist. The need for this feature is just not as prevalent for babies as it is for adults.

Tapes
The infamous one large tape on each side of the diaper is famous in many baby diapers and sought after by some adult babies and diaper lovers. Very few companies have attempted to replicate this “two-tape” (one tape on each side) system for adults because the mechanics behind the design is quite complex and not very feasible. In baby diapers, the one tape on each side is sufficient in supporting the adult diaper enough when it is wet or dirty and is able to prevent too much sagging. But, the average void for adults is a lot larger than babies and causes the adult diaper to become a lot heavier and the one tape on each side system is not able to properly support the diaper. That is why you see many adult diapers with either two tapes on each side or three tapes on each side because adult diapers when they are wet or messed in need the extra support in order to accommodate the extreme weight of the urine or fecal matter.

Thickness
The thickness of many adult diapers compared to baby diapers is quite different. Baby diapers are used at a high rate and therefore do not require the same absorbency and thus the thickness of the baby diaper is diminished. While, on the other hand, the adult diapers usually require a lot more absorbency (more SAP and pulp) and thus thickness is a lot higher. Thickness is usually a sought after item in the adult baby and diaper lover community but in the incontinence community, thickness is not always a good thing for discreetness purposes.

Overall, the same factors go into baby diapers and adult diapers but in varying degrees. Babies don’t need or want the same things that adults look for in adult diapers. While the baby diaper can be somewhat replicated into adult diapers – in my opinion – the only thing that is not feasible to replicate is the one tape on each side system because it just is not feasible to support adult’s needs when it comes to urine and fecal matter. As nice as a one tape on each side system would be, it might be good for looks, but it presents several problems when it comes to adult diapers.

The competition in the adult diaper industry is more competitive than ever. Competition could not be more noticeable in the adult diaper industry as it is in the adult baby and diaper lover community where each diaper is inspected, criticized, praised, and analyzed to every little detail. Sometimes these analyzations can lead to over analyzing which can cause some major issues in similar/parallel reviews of adult diapers. The big guns in the adult diaper industry such as Secure Personal Care, Bambino Diapers, Abena, Molicare, and Attends try to attract certain certain cliques of the adult diaper users.

Bambino Diapers

Abena X-Plus

Secure X-Plus

ABUniverse Diapers

Unfortunately, many of the adult diaper manufacturers have started manufacturing their diapers without the ABDL community in mind leaving only a very select few of good adult diapers for the ABDL community to use and even the incontinence community. Attends was once an amazingly absorbent diaper that was soft, thick, and comfortable. Now, they rank up there with depends absorbency (poor) and their comfort is also poor in comparison to what it used to be. More and more adult diaper manufacturers are competing for the “quietness” factor by switching their adult diapers to cloth like outer coverings. This is much to the dismay of adult babies and diaper lovers as many of them like that plastic outer covering which is actually more expensive to manufacture than cloth (cloth is cheaper to manufacture). Even brands like Molicare have created the “breathable” adult diapers which essentially has less padding on the wings which means less absorption unfortunately. What all this points to is a competitiveness for incontinence users that HAVE TO wear diapers rather than those who enjoy the feel of an adult diaper. After all the incontinence community is much larger than the adult baby and diaper lover community.

The competition within the adult baby and diaper lover community for adult diapers is heating up. The main competitors that have come forward consist of:

While there are other major brands such as Molicare, Tranquility, and Attends…they are not actively competing for anywhere remotely the stock of popularity within the ABDL community. Each diaper manufacturer has some huge strengths and some weaknesses…some more glaring than others but nonetheless, they are each competing in some form for popularity. Here are some strengths of each company:

Bambino Diapers: Known to be the most absorbent adult diaper on the market as well as the softest inner-lining. Phenomenal customer support. Very focused on their reputation and producing flawless diapers. Using cutting-edge materials to add better absorbency, comfort, and softness. VERY focused towards providing products for the ABDL community.

Abena X-Plus: Known as one of thickest adult diapers because of the added fluff they add to their diapers. Great absorbency. Good customer support. Products readily available in stores. Serious tape problems is their only downside. Their tapes are known for not staying on and popping off easily.

Secure X-Plus: Similar to the Bambino Diapers features in many aspects. Super high absorbency, almost as absorbent as bambino diapers. Soft and comfortable. Geared towards providing the best adult diapers specifically to the incontinence community.

ABUniverse (Diapers and Products): Many products geared towards the ABDL community. Trying to create more products on a regular basis. Customer support problems. Good absorbency. Very focused towards the ABDL community with providing a lot of products the ABDL community. Shipping delays can sometimes be an issue with them depending on the time. Prices extremely high. But, you have to give them credit because they are trying to support the ABDL community even if their products are not on the same level as the other companies/products.

Competition is good and should be welcomed because it only makes the companies try to produce better and better products. Its unfortunate that there are really only a few big guns in the adult diaper industry that gear towards the ABDL community. The four companies listed above seem pretty geared towards sticking with plastic-backed diapers (a main staple in the ABDL community) which is a lot more than many other diaper companies can say as they have switched to cloth or are using cheaper materials. I would say Bambino Diapers is the front runner as far as the best adult diaper on the market in regards to features, absorbency, and technology used in their adult diapers…but Abena and Secure are close behind. ABUniverse is competing well especially with their new Cushy diaper but their problem is they don’t have the same absorbency (less absorbent) as the other diaper companies and their price is still too high as well as features are lacking from ABUniverse products. But, hopefully as time grows each company continues to get better and furthers the adult diaper competitiveness in both the incontinence and ABDL market.

Boosters are often looked over when considering things to buy when you are either forced to wear diapers or just enjoy wearing diapers for the fun of it. But, boosters can provide a lot of benefit for both groups of people if the correct booster is chosen. The design of a booster is simple but the effect a booster can have is immense. They can take an ordinary diaper and make it super absorbent or they can give you that extra padding that so many people love the feeling of.

An adult diaper is designed to only hold a certain amount of liquid and that amount of liquid varies highly across all the diaper brands. Some adult diapers can barely manage to hold one wetting before they leak while others such as the premier Bambino Diapers, Secure X-Plus, or Abena can hold multiple wettings. For those people who depend on adult diapers to keep them from leaking and want to save a little money in the long run, boosters are for you. A booster, if chosen properly, can take ANY diaper and make it last twice or three times as long if used properly. In the end, this adds to the life of the diaper and thus giving you an extension of time before one needs to change their diaper.

Many people, especially adult babies and diaper lovers, love the feeling of extra padding, especially if that padding is in the butt/seat area of the diaper. If you like that feeling, a booster is definitely the answer because it provides instant padding that not only increases absorbency of the diaper but also gives you that nice padded feeling in the seat region of the diaper that many people love.

Choosing a booster for an adult diaper can actually be quite meticulous and should be chosen with care. There are some boosters out there that are fairly absorbent but are super uncomfortable. Watch out for those because though they will provide you with added absorbency BUT, they can cause chaffing issues in that region and discomfort which nobody wants. Here are my recommendations for the best boosters you can buy:

1. Bambino Quadro: This booster is the top-dog of all boosters. It is extremely helpful in preventing people who leak from the sides while sleeping or out of the back of their diaper. This booster completely stops all that. It is the best booster money can buy. Plus, this booster is made with a special material to give it a super soft feeling that most diapers can’t even compare to.

2. Bambino Duo: This booster is probably the second best booster on the market. It can absorb more than 90% of diapers on the market can by themselves so you can imagine sticking one of these booster in your diaper and how long you can last. Plus, they are also made with Bambino’s super soft material so there is NO chaffing or discomfort.

3. Tranquility Topliner Booster Pad: This booster is a very well designed booster with a good absorbency that is one of the better ones on the market. Because the material is not as soft as the two above and the absorbency is significantly less…this gets the #3 spot but it is still a good booster to use.

4. Depend Boost Inserts: These are the most popular just because they are the most well known because they are in most grocery stores. The only reason they are on this list is because they are actually decent feeling as far as the material but the absorbency is not very good. If you are looking for really good absorbency, I would go with another booster such as the Bambino Quadro or Duo.

There you have it…those are my choices of my favorite boosters that I have used. I have both the Bambino Quadro and Duo taking up at least one whole decent size shelf and a few extra packs in storage. That is how important I find boosters. They not only save me money but also they can allow you to go a lot longer in between diaper changes especially if you get one of the better boosters.

The Secure X-Plus diaper itself is a plastic diaper that has one of the softest plastics of all the top level diapers. If you like to crinkle then you will definitely like this diaper. It has a very soft plastic outer covering. Also the inner-lining of the diaper is very soft as well. I find it important and noteworthy to mention the softness of the inner lining. I am big on preventing skin rashes and irritation and the Secure X-Plus has not once ever given me a skin rash from rubbing – so that is a big plus in my book.

The absorbency of the Secure X-Plus definitely puts it in the top 5 most absorbent diapers category. I am a girl and I don’t have the “luxury” of being a guy and using the maximum space of the diaper (i.e. the front) for absorbency but I was able to soak the diaper completely 3 times and could have gone probably even more but I just had to change. No Leaks. This was impressive I thought. I thought it absorbed quickly to. Being a girl, urine only really accumulates at the seat of the diaper and the back. A man is able to take advantage of even more of the absorbency because they can use the front of the diaper for even more absorbency. So, I would say if you are looking for a extremely soft and absorbent diaper then this is a perfect match.

In regards to the fit and comfort of the diaper, it is amazing. Everyone has different body shapes and some products will work better for others. The Secure X-Plus just happens to fit me perfectly and snug. It also has waistbands to hold the diaper close to your body which is also nice for multiple reasons. It helps with the comfort and fit but if you like that “babyish” feel then a waistband definitely adds to it. The elastic leg gathers are a huge positive for these diapers too because not many diapers now a days come with them. They are soft as well and comfortable against the skin while also providing a nice snug fit.

The tapes are another huge positive in my opinion. The diaper is designed with frontal landing zone that allows you to remove a tab/tape and then stick it back on if you would like WITHOUT tearing the diaper. I was able to undo the diaper tab and place it back on the frontal landing zone over 5 times and it was still holding strong. So, this is a big plus for those who are casual diaper wearers and don’t want to necessarily waste a diaper if you have to take it off. You can untape the diaper and then retape it back on later without wasting it. It allows for easy adjustments which I always like.

Overall, the Secure X-Plus diaper is one of my Top 3 Favorite Diapers that I use. I always make sure to have a supply of them along with my other brands. If you were to look in my closet you would find equal numbers of Secure X-Plus and Bambino Diapers as those are my top diapers that I currently use…you would also find some lesser diapers such as Attends. But, I am a big supporter of the more absorbent diapers last longer and withstand more so that is why I always have a stockpile of Secure X-Plus diapers and Bambino Diapers. If you haven’t tried them – they are definitely worth giving a shot.

So, since I forgot all about this post and at the time this post was biased – I will redo the review to a little more accurate and further explained since my blog actually became successful.

I first tried the ABUniverse diapers back in the day when they first came out before I had really tried to many premium diapers. This was around the time Bambino was first getting started as well and getting kinks worked out. Here is a picture of the original ABUniverse diaper – I am not sure if they have changed since I have not bought from them in awhile.

These diapers are pretty absorbent and decently crinkly. The absorbency is better than probably 90% of the diapers out there with the exception of Abena, Molicare, Bambino, and Secure. Some people like that crinkliness in a diaper which these do seem to have a decent amount of crinkle. The fit is decent but the padding I don’t feel like is as padded as some of the other premium diapers.

These diapers do not have true leg cuffs to hold the diaper to your legs to prevent leaks and does not have a true elastic waistband which in my case I like because it holds it tighter to my body. ABUniverse diapers do not have these while other premium diapers do.

The baby prints on the ABUniverse diaper are cute and the frontal design is neat how it is blended with the actual diaper and not just a tape. So, if you like the babyish look then this diaper is definitely an option.

Overall, this diaper is definitely up in the premium category but my only MAIN gripe with the ABUniverse diaper is the price. Many other diapers that are in my opinion better actually charge a lot less than ABUniverse. Bambino, Secure, and Abena all run around $1.37 – $1.38 per diaper (mediums) while the ABU diapers run well over $2 per diaper which is extremely expensive. Other premium diapers in my opinion have better absorbency and more features than the ABU diaper and are actually less expensive than the ABU diaper so that is my main gripe with them. I never had a problem with their customer service or shipping but then again that was a long time ago and supposively others have but I can’t speak to that. To sum up, good premium diaper with good absorbency but WAY too pricey in reality for what you get compared to other premium diapers…but, then again if you like their babyish look and are willing to pay top dollar for it, then these diapers may be a good option or another type of diaper to carry in your diaper stash!
