Absolutely. I think that your body is for one tied well into your brain and where you do or do not feel comfortable. Regardless of being continent or incontinent, the body will normally wait until home or the "safe zone" before signaling to do it's thing.

It's all about being relaxed and comfortable.

I totally agree with you Adrian. I am a DL and have been using my diapers 24-7 for the last 3+ years. I very much experience this Comfort Phenomenon with both wetting and pooping. I am getting better at the wetting part, but my body still won't pee too easily unless I am in a comfortable situation. Its getting easier to pee at work or at school, but almost never when I'm out in public unless I drink too much (water/pop/alcohol). One example was when I was on vacation at Disney in Florida. I'm practically bursting with the need to pee yet no matter how much I drank or stood still in a quiet corner of a store...nothing convinced my body to pee while I was surrounded by so many strangers. Pooping is obviously much harder...I can't even poop when I am at home, busily working, let alone in public.

I'm the one that posted the blog's question on ADISC. I was curious what responses would be had there. I hope it's okay I did it without asking first.

Hey Bulky,

To give you the extra short version, my wife was not into diapers herself. I introduced my "daddy desires" to her before I even proposed and she seemed interested but not overly. We got off to an awkward start with it and even now if she's not into it, she's just not going to want to wear. All this is fine with me, I consider myself the luckiest guy on earth when I think of the times she does enjoy it... I couldn't be happier. So basically, yeah, she had to "warm up to them" and it took a while.

Don't expect your wife to have the innate attraction to them like you and I do. It's just not her thing. Find something that is her thing. For my wife, she desires deep meaningful conversation. I give her that and show her that I'm really interested in her thoughts and feelings, I'll usually get rewarded sooner or later. You just have to make it about her... and she'll be more than willing to return the favor. Good luck my friend.

Eman,

You mentioned your wife wears Bambinos, was she into diapers before you got married, or did you introduce her? If you introduced her, did she like them right away or did she "warm up" to them? I recently introduced my wife to diapers and, while she was willing to try, she said there was no real attraction or excitement for her. I'm just curious. Great comment!

This isn't directly related to the topic, but you mentioned playing hide-and-go-seek as a kid and always wetting your self... Funny thing is (as a continent child) I recall as soon as I'd get settled into my hiding spot I'd have to pee so bad. It was always a challenge to put mind over matter and hold it so I wouldn't give up my hiding spot.

The neighbor girl (who I think is responsible for my "daddy" and diaper desires) was a cute little blonde, and just a little younger than myself, that I secretly had a little crush on, had the same pee issues when hiding.

I remember the whole neighborhood playing teams hide-and-seek one day. She was my teammate. We hunkered down in my best hiding spot and before I knew it she was squirming and bouncing. I kept telling her to sit still. Then she looks up at me with big welted eyes. "I peed my pants" she says. Sure enough she did.

I walked her home and handed her off to her mother and within a few minutes she was back out to play. This time, wearing a diaper. Probably a pampers or something. I know it sounds completely absurd but it's true. I never asked so I don't know how or why, but I did see it sticking out of her pants when we hid again. That's when she told me she was peeing right then.

I guess I kind of came away from that experience with the realization that diapers were not only practical, for hide and seek anyway, but feeling indescribable about seeing the cute girl I had a crush on wet herself and then later wear a diaper.

All at the tender age of 9, and I think she was 7. None the less, there's definitely something to that whole "comfort in confined spaces" thing. Just think of the way we design bathrooms in our homes. Even if it is a big bathroom, we still make a tiny enclosure around the toilet and box it in. I even know of people who just can't go in a big, open bathroom, let alone a big, echoing, public bathroom. My wife for example. Total stage fright in public restrooms, can't go, at all. She says they're too open and hallow sounding. Put her in a little bathroom, she's fine. When she wears diapers though she can relax more, but still prefers enclosed spaces. Couldn't go at all at the movie theater one time, but as soon as we got in the truck she just about flooded out a Bambino in one wetting!

This isn't comfort related, but for some reason any time I walk into a bookstore, I suddenly have to poop. I went to the bathroom in one once, and ever since then I can't walk through one without needing to poop! Haha! crazy. I wonder if it is just conditioning???

I couldn't agree more! Amazing that you wrote this, Adrian, because I've often thought of the same thing. I usually do feel my poop when it hits my ass-cheeks, though, as my nerves are not damaged there. It does sometimes take me by surprise - and sometimes I may not even notice the temporary feeling as my diaper fills, as long as the poop is not actually touching my buns - like if I'm standing. Of course, I will typically feel the weight sagging down my diaper or panties, (I sometimes think I can get away without a diaper, because I don't always like to wear baggy clothes when going out), before anything else. I may have a cramp, or I may feel "full", and know I might be close to filling my diaper, and will therefore stay out of sutuations that I'm not, as you say,m "comfortable" in.

I try not to ingest anything that may cause runny messes or anything like that, and try to exercise regularly so I can keep "regular". It's not easy to do, of course, and I'm not always able to be in a comfortable place when I need to mess, but it's surprisingly rare that I'm in that awkward situation.

Perhaps we have subconsciously been able to adjust our lives around our messes? Since mine tend to be, lets say "voluminous", it can be very embarrassing to have a large obvious lump in the seat of my pants - even though I tend to wear baggier clothes, like overalls. But I find that even with my baggy outfits the stretch of the diaper is still clearly visible after I poop in my pants. (well, diaper actually)

Thanks so much for sharing this!!
