Unique Wellness Brief Review
NOTE: I received a “bad batch” of the Unique Wellness Briefs so the below review is not fully accurate. I have received the a sample of the real Unique Wellness Brief and will do a follow up review of it soon for those who are curious about the Unique Wellness Brief.
I have heard a lot of talk about the Unique Wellness Brief, so I figured I would see what all the fuss was about it. Sadly to say, I was disappointed and I feel mislead by their photo as well. I will first provide the photos below for you to see for yourself. Peter tried them first, so I got one photo of him wearing it from the front and the rest of the photos are the wet diapers after I changed his diaper while it was wet. Observe:
The first thing I noticed was the cute color blue of the medium sized unique wellness diaper. I will say the blue is certainly a change from the white color diaper that most are. But, that is one of the few positives when I am comparing the diaper to some of the premium diapers such as Bambino, Secure, Abena, etc. The diaper is definitely no where close to as thick as the other premium diapers and if I am going to be paying a premium price than I want to feel like I am getting a premium diaper. The diaper is also no where close to as absorbent as the premium diapers such as Abena, Secure, or Bambino Diapers. I would put the absorbency rating of these diapers above attends but at or below Tranquility ATN. The problem I have with the Unique Wellness Briefs is that they are so expensive compared to what you get. You can get a lot better deal and more bang for your buck with other premium diapers. The seat of the diaper and backside is tad thicker but not by much in my opinion. As you can also see the padding material is very confined to the front and and back and does not cover the sides so I could easily see it leaking for men if you are laying on your side so for those who don’t want to leak when they are sleeping or risk leaking I would not suggest this diaper for that cause.
I feel like they misrepresent their diaper look as well…here is the photo they provide on their website which makes the diaper look very thick everywhere but in reality its not…you be the judge:
They make the diaper look so thick in that image but it is not that thick and you will be disappointed. If I had to compare them to another diaper in similarity I would say they are about the same or less than the Secure Plus (not that Secure X-Plus).
The tapes are similar to the Abena which are not my favorite but they held adequately. The tapes were not that bad overall and actually felt a little more stable than the Abena but I guess I am just so used to the great tapes on the Bambinos. They do have a wetness indicator on them which is nice to have sometimes.
In conclusion, they are a good average diaper that I would rate as on the same level as an Attends diaper or Tranquility. That most of the time they wont leak but you take a higher risk especially if you urinate harder and the diaper cannot absorb the urine as fast as other diapers can which will lead to leaking. Plus it can pool easier in the seat of the diaper and/or leak out the sides because of the lack of padding on the sides of the diaper. I am biased, yes, because I wear a lot of premium/thicker diapers that have fantastic absorbency and all that. And for the price I would have to pay for them I could get a better deal and better diaper in the Bambinos or Secure or some of the other premium ones out there like Abena. Its all preference obviously, but I will say for the price I expected better features and better absorbency. But, overall they are just an average diaper nothing exciting in my opinion (I am sure others have differing opinions) – but I am basing a fair amount of this off the price of the diaper compared to a lot better ones.
Cutest Adult Onesie (For Girls)
Ok, so I went into J Crew the other day just browsing and OMG I found the cutest onesie. I tried it on and everything and I wanted it so bad but I could not bring myself to pay the $70 for it. It was heartbreaking lol. I could not find this exact one on their website, it was only in stores. I think they actually refer to is as a “union suit” but its a onesie basically. I snapped a photo of myself in it so I can dream about having it. Check out the photo:
Isn’t it cute? Its gotta be the cutest and softest onesie I have ever tried. It wasn’t too thick and wasn’t too thin. It would be perfect because its not heavy and won’t make you sweat which I have a big problem with a lot of the adult footed pajamas. They are always fleece like and make me sweat. I really like the thinner type ones that aren’t so bulky…this one was perfect and it even had a hood – how cool is that? If you look close enough you can see my diaper – tempting huh? LOL – yeh its thin enough to see through. Grrr…just writing this post makes me regret not buying it. Haha well enjoy the picture and if any of you lucky people out there saw it and ended up getting one – I am jealous!
Bambino Diapers vs Secure X-Plus Diaper Comparison Review
I have decided to do a review or comparison of Bambino Diapers and Secure X-Plus diapers. Many people think they are the exact same diaper when in fact both have their own uniqueness and qualities to each. Hopefully, this review and comparison will provide some people with helpful information and better insight into what you are getting with each diaper.
Similarities: Both are phenomenal diapers that have probably the best absorbency of an adult diaper on the market. I used both and probably wet 3 full times in each and they still could have held even more but I am not fully obsessive over keeping on a soaked diaper all day. But, the absorbency in each is comparable and amazing. Both the Bambino Diapers and Secure X-Plus have front and back waistbands which is really nice because it keeps the diaper close to your body. As well, both diapers have standing leg cuffs which is probably one of the most important features in a diaper. Both have 4 tapes total (2 on each side) that hold superbly and they can even both be adjusted (refastened) if need be multiple times. Both are of roughly equal thickness and both have super soft plastic that is probably the softest of all diapers I have tried. The thickness of both is probably in the Top 2 or 3 of the thickest diapers on the market so if you like that babyish feel, either diaper will do it for you. Both are also plastic and have a nice crinkly sound to them that many people will like.
Differences: So, the most obvious difference between the Bambino Diapers and Secure X-Plus is the frontal tape zone (the print). The Bambino Classico has a babyish print, the Bambino Bianco is an all white diaper, and the Secure X-Plus has print on the front but it is not babyish. The Secure X-plus has a wetness indicator on the diaper while the Bambino Classico and Bianco do not. The Bambino Diapers also differ in that the inner lining is all white while the Secure X-plus has a blue marking on the inner lining as shown below:

Conclusion: In the end, both our similar diapers but have their own qualities that make them unique. If you want the babyish style then go with the Bambino Diapers Classico. If you want the more professional and not as babyish style then go with the Secure X-Plus or Bambino Bianco. If you like to have a wetness indicator then the Secure X-Plus is your diaper because it has one while the Bambino Diapers do not. Either one you choose, you are getting the top diapers on the market. There are also minor differences I would say in the fit that you could notice only if you try each one out yourself and try them on.
While this comparison is not super in depth, I know…it provides all the information comparative wise between the two diapers to hopefully help you make a decision which to go with. I would rate them as the Top 1 and 2 diapers on the market and I use both. They are the most absorbent and best fitting in my opinion…plus if you like the babyish look then you can’t go wrong with the Bambino Diapers. But, if you are not so much into the babyish look then you can always get the all white Bambino Bianco Diaper or Secure X-Plus to have that more “professional” or “neutral” look.

Keeping Diapers New and Exciting
Obviously, wearing diapers all day, everyday, one is bound to lose the “specialness” in wearing a diaper and all the joy it can bring. That is wear new and exciting things come into play to keep things fresh. It is very important I think to make small changes, add new things, modify things, etc. in your life with regards to diapers to keep things new and refreshing. Now there are only so many things new you can try with a diaper but here are some of my suggestions for what we do to keep things growing in regards to diapers and exciting:
- Take Photos: Taking photos in diapers whether it is with clothes on or off is absolutely essential I think in keeping things fresh. Its nice to have a photo or even a video record of what you looked like. Then, you can share the photos with close friends or others. Or, you can just keep them for yourself to look at or share them with your spouse.
- Buy New Clothes: If you can afford it, buying new clothes that will look good while wearing a diaper or good for pictures can spice things up a bit. For me, in the summer, buying a new mini skirt or workout shorts. You see the angle I am getting at?
- Tweak Diaper Changes: Make some changes in how you go about getting changed whether you change yourself or someone else changes you. Peter likes to every once in awhile throw a curve ball into where he changes my diaper in our place. There are so many options: the floor, the bed, couch, etc.
- Talk to Others: Conversate with others that wear diapers or make some friends. This can not only be good for your social life but also keep things new and refreshing in the diaper “realm”. Obviously, this can prove difficult if you don’t live near anyone that is around your age that you feel comfortable talking with but there is always talking online to people.
- Add Things To Your Night Out: So when you wear a diaper out and whether you are by yourself or with someone else. Add some new things such as maybe your partner or friend will check your diaper while you are out or you can check yourself. Don’t do anything completely crazy or absurd but minor things that won’t completely creep out the public. A quick diaper check will at most leave a person curious and probably just assume you have some sort medical condition. So, add a few tweaks to your night out to spice things up.
There are obviously a lot more things you can do to keep things new and refreshing but these happen to be the main ones that we try to do to make sure diapers never become a “going through the motion” type of experience. They are a big part of our lives and we want to make the best of it.
Funny Diaper Changing Video
So, I will make a longer post later but I wanted to share a video that I came across that is really funny on how to change an adult diaper. It is part serious but really just a big joke. Its funny though, really:
Changing an Adult’s Messy Diaper
I know I do not post much in regards to this topic but I wanted to shed some light on a topic/dilemma that is sometimes even hard for me just in terms of the work required and materials used…even as experienced as I am. So, I was changing Peter’s poopy diaper yesterday and I swear it took me like the whole package of wipes to clean him up and it really required a lot of work. Now, I know adult’s messes are a lot bigger than babies but I guess I feel like there should be an easier and more convenient method for cleaning him up. His messes are sometimes just so big I guess that I feel like I am more just “smearing it” around then I am actually wiping it up. I mean, here I am holding up his legs for like 10 minutes or so while I wipe him which I know is uncomfortable him after a point. I know its probably easier to use a wet washcloth to wipe him first but I will say that is not always convenient. So, I am looking for some tips that anyone is willing to share in this matter as I just want to be able to change his pooped diapers a bit easier because its not only a lot of work for me but also it gets uncomfortable for him having his legs raised for that long while I clean him up.
I have always been pretty experienced with changing messy diapers whether it is Peter or when I have babysat. But, I guess I got to thinking there must be something I could do thats easier or more convenient OR even something maybe Peter could do to make it easier when he does mess. I don’t know – I am pretty open and all ears for those who are even more crafty and experienced than me.
Secure X-Plus Diaper Review
Secure X-Plus diapers are made by the company Secure Personal Care (http://www.securepersonalcare.com). They make several “levels” of diapers, three actually, ranging from their premium level diaper all the way to their most absorbent diaper, the Secure X-Plus. The Secure X-Plus diaper is the diaper I will be reviewing today as I prefer their most absorbent diaper even though the other levels of their diapers are quite absorbent too and I would easily choose over other brands such as Attends and Tena.
The Secure X-Plus diaper itself is a plastic diaper that has one of the softest plastics of all the top level diapers. If you like to crinkle then you will definitely like this diaper. It has a very soft plastic outer covering. Also the inner-lining of the diaper is very soft as well. I find it important and noteworthy to mention the softness of the inner lining. I am big on preventing skin rashes and irritation and the Secure X-Plus has not once ever given me a skin rash from rubbing – so that is a big plus in my book.
The absorbency of the Secure X-Plus definitely puts it in the top 5 most absorbent diapers category. I am a girl and I don’t have the “luxury” of being a guy and using the maximum space of the diaper (i.e. the front) for absorbency but I was able to soak the diaper completely 3 times and could have gone probably even more but I just had to change. No Leaks. This was impressive I thought. I thought it absorbed quickly to. Being a girl, urine only really accumulates at the seat of the diaper and the back. A man is able to take advantage of even more of the absorbency because they can use the front of the diaper for even more absorbency. So, I would say if you are looking for a extremely soft and absorbent diaper then this is a perfect match.
In regards to the fit and comfort of the diaper, it is amazing. Everyone has different body shapes and some products will work better for others. The Secure X-Plus just happens to fit me perfectly and snug. It also has waistbands to hold the diaper close to your body which is also nice for multiple reasons. It helps with the comfort and fit but if you like that “babyish” feel then a waistband definitely adds to it. The elastic leg gathers are a huge positive for these diapers too because not many diapers now a days come with them. They are soft as well and comfortable against the skin while also providing a nice snug fit.
The tapes are another huge positive in my opinion. The diaper is designed with frontal landing zone that allows you to remove a tab/tape and then stick it back on if you would like WITHOUT tearing the diaper. I was able to undo the diaper tab and place it back on the frontal landing zone over 5 times and it was still holding strong. So, this is a big plus for those who are casual diaper wearers and don’t want to necessarily waste a diaper if you have to take it off. You can untape the diaper and then retape it back on later without wasting it. It allows for easy adjustments which I always like.
Overall, the Secure X-Plus diaper is one of my Top 3 Favorite Diapers that I use. I always make sure to have a supply of them along with my other brands. If you were to look in my closet you would find equal numbers of Secure X-Plus and Bambino Diapers as those are my top diapers that I currently use…you would also find some lesser diapers such as Attends. But, I am a big supporter of the more absorbent diapers last longer and withstand more so that is why I always have a stockpile of Secure X-Plus diapers and Bambino Diapers. If you haven’t tried them – they are definitely worth giving a shot.

Posting Frequency
So, I know I have been a little inconsistent with posting and I do apologize to those who follow my blog closely. I promise I am making an effort and will make a harder effort now to post more regularly. I honestly want to post more often – I just don’t want to post garbage material that people are not going to find helpful or interesting. Me posting a typical day stuff is boring – at least to me. But, then again maybe I am not looking at it from an outsider’s view. But, I promise I am going to post more and be more consistent as I do want to grow this blog and keep my readers.
One thing I do not appreciate is people messaging me and try to make me feel like I “owe them” or “I have to” post on my blog in order to live up to their expectations. This blog is for myself first and helping people right after that. I post on it when I have time and when I feel something may interest people or be helpful. Yes, I say I am going to post more and I make every attempt to at that time – but I cannot predict life sometimes and I just get caught up with some of the dramas in life. I follow other people’s blogs and I never ask them to post or pressure them to feel like they need to post for me. I would appreciate the same understanding and kindness from certain people – who know who they are. That is all I am going to say about that.
But, for those who do follow my blog – I promise I am making every attempt to post more frequently and will try harder. Expect a REVIEW coming soon…maybe today.
