10 Things That Make Being a Diaper Lover Fun

September 13, 2011 by

I thought I would make a fun post today about what I consider 10 things or advantages to being a diaper lover.  A lot of people may look at the negatives behind being a diaper lover but I say that is garbage and here are my 10 advantages of being a diaper lover and what they can do for you:

  1. Relaxing in Diapers: There is something about diapers that acts as a relaxant.  Almost an diaper lover will tell you that there is nothing like putting on a diaper and lounging around the house.  It calms and comforts many people as it does me as well…even now.
  2. Convenience: The convenience of using a diaper is unmatched…in a tight spot and no bathroom around.  Well, you got a diaper on! No worries!
  3. Magical Crinkle: Everyone knows that sound of the diaper crinkle and many find it hard to describe why they like it so much but something about that crinkle brings calming and good memories back to many of us.
  4. Community: The diaper lover community is immense and many of the people in the community are very supportive and friendly.  It adds an extra social dynamic to your life with being able to connect with a whole other community with the same interests.
  5. Uniqueness: There are a lot of “groups” out there that have their own interests but there is just something about being a diaper lover that feels unique.  You feel there is something truly unique, different, and well better about yourself interest than most other people because of the uniqueness and difference in wearing diapers.
  6. Experience of a Diaper Change: Whether you change yourself or someone else changes your diaper – you must admit that the feeling of changing a diaper and getting in a fresh diaper is just indescribable.  It is truly an amazing feeling that I think a lot of people outside of the diaper lover community miss out on.
  7. Spice to Your Wardrobe: Diapers can surprisingly add a little spice to your wardrobe.  Many people like the little bulge that it adds to the back of their pants.  I personally think it adds something to some of my skirts and dresses because I not only like the look but it also makes me look like I got a little but more of a butt (flat butt alert over here).
  8. Harmless: Being a diaper lover is one of those interests that is harmless…you are not doing anything illegal, harmful, or bad to yourself which is always a positive.  There are many interests that require doing something harmful, illegal, etc…but not being a diaper lover.
  9. Always Something To Do: Are you bored? Nothing to do tonight? Diapers provide that extra dynamic that can spice up your night…strap on an adult diaper and immediately your interest is peaked.  Go to the mall and get that exhilaration of wearing a diaper in public.  It can always make a boring time into a more interesting time.
  10. Increase Self-Esteem and Confidence: By embracing being a diaper lover and being different it enables you to become more comfortable with yourself and feel more confident in yourself.  This in turn can raise your confidence level which is always important in this day and age.
Well, there you go – obviously there are a ton more advantages to being a diaper lover but I hope you at least enjoyed my fun little list here.  Feel free to add some more in the comments and if I get enough I will add a whole user submitted advantage page to being a diaper lover and we can see how many we can get.

My Messy Diaper in the Morning

September 8, 2011 by

I got up this morning and I have to admit that I usually do not have messy accidents during the night time so this was a rare occurrence for me honestly.  Peter was actually quite surprised when he checked me this morning to find out that I had actually pooped my diaper.  He really didn’t have to check because of the smell but I was sort of surprised myself when I woke up.  I don’t know if I ate something last night at the restaurant we went to last night or what that made me mess at night but usually my fecal incontinence does not “happen” at night oddly enough.  But, times like these remind me that it can truly happen anytime.  It was bad enough that he had to take it off of me in the bathroom and I had to just take a shower because it was easier to get cleaned up after he wiped me down a little bit.  Took a quick snapshot of it – I was honestly stunned because it hadn’t happened at night in awhile.

Don’t mind my random piece of long hair next to the diaper either.  I straighten my hair so obviously it is damaged from that so my hair falls out quite a bit when I brush it.  But, yeh as you can see – no big surprise I wet as I usually have a wet diaper in the morning but wow I cannot believe I pooped in my diaper at night…I honestly don’t think that has happened in literally months.  Anyways the Secure X-Plus diaper I had on held up very well and did not leak anything so I was pretty happy with that considering the diaper was pretty heavy when Peter took it off.  Anyways, that is my random rambling for today – I know its random but I was just amazed that I had a “poop accident” since I rarely have em at night.  But, yeh – yay me I guess lol.  I hope everyone is having a good week and everyone is getting excited for the weekend.  Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?

Urinary Incontinence and Botox

August 28, 2011 by

Urinary incontinence is a major problem for millions of people around the world. Just recently Botox, yes the stuff used in people’s faces to smooth away wrinkles and what not, was approved for use in patients with neurological issues that suffer from incontinence. Here is a link to the article: Botox Approved for Urinary Incontinence.  But, basically I read up on how it works and its the same idea as smoothing away wrinkles except instead of “relaxing” skin it is “relaxing” the bladder.  You would think that by relaxing the bladder that it would cause you to pee but quite the opposite.  In order to urinate, your bladder actually contracts instead of relaxes.  So, by injecting Botox it causes the bladder to relax and thus decreasing the incontinence episodes for those with neurological issues that suffer from incontinence.

The approval is quite limited to only those that are neurological patients such as spinal cord injuries or multiple sclerosis.  This wouldn’t apply to the average woman or man suffering from incontinence.  But, I personally think this is a good thing even though I am not one of those people that believes in medicating up and drugs.  I am a very “natural” person and don’t like overloading my body with medications, drugs, etc.  I try to eat organically and healthy as much as I can so the idea of injecting Botox (which is really just a form of Botulism Toxin) – yes Botulism – the same thing that can cause paralysis from eating under-cooked meat, into my body is just absolutely never going to happen for any reason even if deemed safe.  But, I think for those who suffer from incontinence that have multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions that this can be very beneficial to them when the least of their worries is putting a “safe” form of botulism toxin into their body.  Modern medicine has some major polar opposites in my opinion in that I believe that a lot of things will do more harm than good, especially in the long term, but then when it comes to modern innovations of medicine such as this that can provide relief for parents and individuals suffering from incontinence in disabled people – this can provide some significant relief.

You have to think about the benefits and ramifications this has for say the parents of these disabled persons.  By reducing the amount of urinary incontinence episodes of these individuals not only does wonders for the child or person but also can save the parents money in catheter changing costs and/or adult diaper costs.  It reduces the amount of times someone will use their diaper so reduces the amount of diapers that the parent has to pay for in the long term and thus saves the parent’s money.  I don’t know – I can appreciate the small benefits that people may not think of like that.

Just because I have embraced my incontinence (both urinary and fecal) and have learned to make the best of the situation and attribute it a lot to the person I am today does not mean I don’t think others should have to suffer if they do not accept it or find it a huge burden in their life.  I am all for individual choices and though I have made mine and would not change a thing – I am all about helping others if they want help even if they do not accept incontinence or consider it a meaningful part of their life like I do.  So, when I see little news bits like this – I can truly APPRECIATE the benefits that something like this can have on thousands of families in the United States who have children that suffer from incontinence that have neurological conditions.  I can just see the parents reading this same news and just getting a glimmer of hope that they can benefit from this.

Change Your Poopy Diaper – It is Healthy

August 25, 2011 by

A poopy diaper is exactly that – a messy, stinky, bacteria-filled, and so on diaper. I have lately read so many posts about how people enjoy sitting in their poopy diaper for hours on end because they love the feel. I will be the first to admit that its a nice feeling for a second and then knowing your going to get changed…BUT, that is about where it stops. I do not like sitting in a messy diaper for very long and usually want Peter to change me fairly quickly. It for one gets uncomfortable after awhile and it stinks. Now, I am sure there are some people out there that love to “bask” in the smell of a messy diaper but I am not one of them.

It has given me massive diaper rash in the past and I am not a big fan of that. Plus, I know in public I am DEFINITELY not one to like walking around in a smelly diaper. It is just not me. It is not that I am really humiliated or anything – its just not appropriate and rude to others I think for them to have to smell me/you. Common courtesy I guess. Plus, the health factor – feces has a lot of bacteria in it that can spread obviously to other areas if it “comes out” or you contact it somehow.

If you are going to do “messy play” then please use a LOT of vaseline and baby powder because it is going to cause some massive diaper rash after you wait awhile. I just think the health aspects do it for me. I am a health nut so sitting around in a messy diaper is just NOT ME. Just because we engage in this sort of thing does not mean we have to be immature, stupid, or unsafe about it. Treat your body right so that you don’t get yourself sick or at the least get a really uncomfortable diaper rash.

Sorry, I know random post – but I have just been reading so many posts lately on people saying how they love to sit around for hours in poopy diaper and I just can’t fathom doing that on multiple levels unless I absolutely had to. There is the obsessive cleanliness aspect to me, uncomfortable, smelly, and then the health factor that all I guess made me just want to rant about this. Maybe I can persuade some of you to maybe reduce hanging around in a messy diaper from a couple hours to maybe 30 minutes…that would be a health victory.

Wet Active Ultra Diaper Change

August 17, 2011 by

So, I recently got a case of the Active Ultra diapers in and have been using them non-stop.  I like these diapers a lot.  The all white is really nice when I am not feeling in baby mode but still want a nice thick and absorbent diaper.  The diaper below is when I woke up and Peter changed me – as you can tell I am not a heavy wetter during the night and this diaper could hold a lot more but I had to get ready to go to work and I am not going to wear a wet diaper to work even though it can hold a lot more. I am stomach sleep so you can see how a lot of the urine pools a little bit more towards the front instead of the back seat of my diaper which actually helps a lot when I have a really really wet night because I get to take advantage of more of the diaper “area” rather than always just the back part of the seat of the diaper as really girls only can based on their anatomy when standing up.

Ultra Active Diaper - Wet

I haven’t had any problems with the tapes yet as some people have stated but I could see where problems may arise with the tapes as they are not as secure as the Bambino Classico or Bianco or Teddy diapers…they are I guess what they call a “hook” type fastener which so far has stayed on fine for me. Think of it more as a really tight velcro. I think one of the key is making sure the tape is on the front of the diaper flat and not putting the tape on extremely tight. At least that is what has worked for me and I have gone through about 10+ of them without any tapes coming off or any issues. I am sure one of them will as I am a fairly active person and could see where one might just come off but so far they feel really secure to me and are my go to diaper at the moment since Bambino Diapers is restocking their mediums of Classico/Teddy/Bianco diapers.

New Features on I Heart Diapers

July 29, 2011 by

As many of you know I have been working on slowly adding new features to I Heart Diapers…well I have officially added a few new things.  First, I added a new email system for a way of contacting me.  It is sort of like a ticket system.  It allows me to respond to emails within WordPress which is a lot easier for me personally so I should be able to respond to everyone a lot faster and easier.  Second, and the biggest change of all is that I have added PROFILES and a way to login to I Heart Diapers.  This allows you to register through I Heart Diapers or you can also use your Facebook account to login/register.  You can upload an Avatar and everything.  It is like your own profile on I Heart Diapers – if you choose to have one that is.  You can comment on posts without one as normal but if you visit here a lot and would like your own profile then feel free to register through I Heart Diapers or using your Facebook account.  If you notice anything weird or glitching, please contact me as the only way to work out the kinks is if people start using the new features.

Camo Skirt and Bambino Diapers

July 22, 2011 by

Alright, so I am back on the posting wagon and things should become a little more regular around here.  Expect to start seeing a few surprise changes as well.  I am planning on making this blog a bit bigger and more interactive so expect to see a few changes.  If some of the changes don’t work out – well let me know and we will modify or remove them depending on the issues.  Anyways, so I hadn’t posted a photo in a while and figured I would post this photo of when I was about to get ready to go out for the night.  That camo skirt is one of my favorite Abercrombie skirts and fits over Bambino Diapers really well so I wear it fairly often.

The photo is a few months old from when I was back in my old place before we moved. Haven’t got a chance to break out the camera and take photos in the new place just yet. So, excuse the bright colors in the bathroom…I am a bright colors type of girl! Anyways, I just took this Zumba workout class yesterday and woke up this morning super sore. You should of seen me in there – I have no coordination skills so it was quite interesting. I should have wore shorts yesterday instead of spandex pants because it got unusually hot in there. Thank God I wore an Attends diaper though and not a Bambino for that reason – the Attends diaper is a bit thinner and cooler for that type of thing. Usually, when I work out I don’t need a super thick diaper like a Bambino or Abena so I wear something like an Attends or Tranquility that are thinner but still provide good protection.

I am off to run some errands today and get some stuff for our new place – still decorating if you know what I mean. We are trying to find a decent looking couch instead of this hideous brown one we have now. Working on a pretty tight budget so hopefully we can find something in our price range and that is not hideous. We really want an L-Shaped couch but the likelihood of finding an L-Shaped couch in a decent color in our price range is not too likely. But, I am off to change my diaper real quick and then I am out the door to start my long day of errands…I hope everyone has a good Friday and is looking forward to the weekend!

Move Complete…Finally

July 14, 2011 by

So, we finally finished moving! Wow that was a crazy experience and lets say I never want to do it like that again.  We are stupid and moved only “some” of our stuff in a moving truck and transported the rest ourselves in our cars.  Needless to say we had more stuff than we thought and it took forever to get everything moved but we finally did it.

I have to say that it was the funniest conversation with the moving truck guys when they were helping us move our stuff.  We had them move our diapers just because there were boxes of them and just easier to put them in the moving truck.  The conversation basically started out with a “Wow, that is a lot of diapers” and my response was “Yeh, we go through them quickly – you would be surprised”.  The look on their faces was absolutely priceless.  It led to about a 30 minutes conversation while we were helping them load some of the stuff about adult diapers.  The conversation ranged from incontinence which we explained to them that is why we had them and they talked about how their grand parents of course have incontinence…blah blah that type stuff.  It ranged all the way to curious questions on how to we manage to conceal them in public and deal with that sort of thing in every day life.  We just gave general answers like “you would be surprised how easy it is” peppered with some details.  But, we were tired and honestly did not feel like going in depth on the whole how we deal with adult diapers on a daily basis topic.  But, they were both really cool guys and treated us like normal people so we appreciated that and it showed in how we tipped them.

Anyways, just getting the computers setup now and some sort of office going in our new place so we can efficiently manage all the stuff we have.  It has been one crazy month and I am really looking forward to getting back on track with this blog but like I have always said life comes first.  This blog is extremely important to me and has been with me for years and helped me through a lot of tough times…its like my “baby”.  But, just wanted to give everyone an update on where my busy life was at the moment and keep posted for more updates and posts as we get our computers setup and everything back online and running smoothly.  May even take some pictures of our new place as well ;-)
