My Monthly Cost for Adult Diapers

Someone asked a question about roughly how much do I spend a month on diapers.  That is actually a really good question.  I truly had to sit there and think about exactly what I buy in a month.  So, here is the breakdown of what I spend roughly per month on adult diapers and diaper related products (i.e. baby powder, vaseline, etc).  In regards to diapers I probably spend in the range of $70 a month on adult diapers.  I typically order one case of Bambino Diapers a month so that runs a lot cheaper now since they came out with their new lower prices (helped me out a lot!).  Then, I typically order 1 package of Attends diapers a month so that is roughly $20 give or take…so, it comes out to roughly $70-$80 per month on adult diapers alone.  Which, is not too bad.  A lot of times I still have some leftover from the previous month so I may not order as many diapers the next month – it just depends whether I have more accidents or messes that month.  Just varies.  In regards to the baby accessories – I typically spend probably $10 a month on this sort of stuff.  Mainly that is wipes because messes typically take a bit more wipes to clean up so I usually buy the refiller pack of Pampers Swipers (thicker wipe for “big messes”) which runs roughly $6.  Then, probably $4 for maybe some additional baby powder or baby vaseline to prevent chaffing.  Sometimes, I will buy Desitin so that factors into the cost per month sometimes.

Obviously, this varies certain months but on average that is roughly the amount spent on diapers per month.  I have a huge stash of diapers honestly so if I wanted to take off a few months and not buy any diapers then I could but I am the type of person that likes to feel comforted about having a lot of diapers.  I know, I know – I am strange like that.  But, I would estimate that I probably have over 500 diapers at any given time.  Many are still in their case boxes but yeh.  Being incontinent makes you always prepared for the worst so I make sure I have a good stock of adult diapers and baby accessories such as baby powder and wipes on hand just in case.

Hopefully that answered your question on how much I spend roughly on diapers per month.  I am curious how different I am compared to others…what does everyone else spend ‘roughly’ of course on diapers and baby accessories per month?

I probably spend about $80/month (approx 2 cases of Abriform X-plus) being on 3 diapers a day. I use abriforms, so I think I change every 7-8 hours, but I am mainly dealing with urinary incontinence.

As you said Adrian it depends on the month but being incontinent like you I go through 2 cases of Abena x-plus a month so I spend about $160.00 (canadian$) and then probably a $12.00 in swipers wipes and powder. Once in a while I have to use a prescription cream for diaper rash so that costs about $17.00 so I am probably about $175.00 a month. I also like to keep a stash of diapers. My SO thinks I’m waiting for the apocalypse but I hate hoping my diapers will show up in time.

I used to spend over $100 per month on diapers and essentials, but I’ve switched from expensive wipes to just using a warm, wet, cloth to clean myself after messing. Big or small messes; they still take at least a few wipes, so a soft warm cloth is really good at keeping expenses down a bit. Of course, when I’m out and mess my diaper, then I have wipes handy. I’m pretty good at managing that, though. I don’t always wear a diaper out, either, if I’d had a BM in the morning. There are times when I’ve gotten caught out and messed my panties, but I wear big panties. ;) Haven’t really been caught and embarrassed with loaded panties, to date. Thankfully.

    Hey,

I have a killer diaper rash… I wet the bed, urinary incontinence, and I can’t get rid of it… What do you suggest??? I spend about $27 a month on diapers plus 10 more for wipes and lots of DESITIN and A&D…

You know, this makes me wonder a bit: How do the costs of a diaper-dependent adult compare to the costs of taking care of an actual baby in diapers?

I had to break out a calculator.

I’d guess I spend about $70 a month on diapers, but I buy Molicares, which are substantially more expensive than other brands I could get. I just got three cases in this week (I get from B4NS, which ships from one province away…so one day shipping!), which should last me…a while. Hoping at 3-5 months.

I’m not incontinent, but still wear a diaper every night, and occasionally during the day. I prefer Attends for daytime wear, mainly due to their relative thinness compared to the Molicares. So…yeah. $70 is about fair.

…huh. That ain’t so bad then. I thought it would have been more!

Diaper rash, am suffering from the same thing. It’s been more than a few months now and I’ve tried handfuls of creams, epsom salt baths, powders and nada. Once it got started, it was like a train wreck. I know when my boys were little, we’d take the diapers off now and again throughout the day. But I don’t have enough time alone where I can do that!

I usually spend about $125 a month on diapers. Typically a case of Bambinos and a case of something else.

What’s your usual daily routine? (How many do you use per day) I’d try and do the math myself but I’m too lazy xD

i dont wear for need..but i only buy when i can afford …so i do without a lot

I’m the same way. I buy my ATN (All-through-the-night) diapers on Ebay at like $50 for 72 diapers. Even when I have some left, I will buy more the next month. I like the security of having a bunch of diapers in a box to sift through and smell…idk

If you are incontinent, I am wondering if you have insurance that will cover the cost of your diapers and have considered going that route. Although, I can tell you’d probably get some flak if you wanted to request Bambinos from an insurance company…. they would probably wonder what’s going on! I ask because I have a friend who is incontinent and has insurance that pays the cost of his diapers.
