Hi, I'm also a non-incontinent diaper wearer. I've been into wearing diapers in some form or other since puberty. Until I could buy them for myself, I had to use stand-ins like my mother's maxi pads. I, like many of the other commenters, wear to help comfort myself, I stress out easily and wearing diapers does help. As to Rachel's potential problem, all I can say is that you have the RIGHT to refuse to take any medication that you don't want to take and if your doctor tries to strong-arm or intimidate you into taking them, it is time to find a different doctor.

Hi Adrian--newbie here (not to mention a DL who's slowly venturing into the AB side):

If I were not incontinent due to cerebral palsy, I doubt I could be as brave about wearing diapers as some of the non-incontinent folks here. That medical excuse is a great confidence booster, and without it, I'm faced with awkward explanations to certain people, like the home-health aides who take care of my needs every day. I rather imagine a scenario like this:

"That's strange, there's nothing in our records that says you're incontinent....what are the diapers for?"
"Uh, well....you see....that is...."

I *could* hide them, of course, but since the aides clean my apartment in addition to assisting me with showering and dressing, they would run across them eventually. (I can't do the one thing I've wanted to do desperately for years--get a pacifier--for the same reason).

So the medical excuse is, for me, a lifesaver--*that* most folks can understand. They would not, most likely, take as kindly to hearing that I actually *enjoy* weraring them.

I actually live in fear that my doctor will strong-arm me into taking medication for my incontinence, thereby robbing me of my medical excuse, and relegating me to only wearing diapers behind closed doors, with the shades drawn....

It's kind of ignorant of others to think that a fetish for diapers is, and I quote, a "destructive tool." I have a fetish for diapers, and I don't think this would destroy a relationship, unless it was the only way I could have a healthy sex life, and I'm certain that this would never be the case. If I were to tell any future spouses about my fetish, I would not impose it upon them that it's diapers or nothing; I would just want them to know this side of me that I think has influenced my personality to some degree, which is what I believe. If they want to get into it so they can help me feel good, then great. Go for it. But otherwise, it's their choice, and I must respect it.

So please, don't label us as individuals who cannot have relationships with non-DL men/women. I hate to point this out because I like to keep AB/DLs a harmonious group of people with the same interests and goals regarding this lifestyle. But I will not be viewed as a negative influence on relationships due to something I cannot help.

I for some reason acquired this thing of always wanting to try and wear a diaper, i never had the guts to wear one but today and yesterday i was thinking about a free sample. I remembered my GP had them free for mothers in the toilets for babies, amazingly they fit since i have a small waste, the tapes were to short but i used a bit more tape. I was trying to forget this feeling about waiting to try them cause I thought negatively about it, I tried one and found it comfortable and sometimes I do occasionally find I did wet the bed (I find I sleep through most times) once on Friday night after having drinks at the pub, although I wasn't drunk I must of slept through. I have come to accept this and ordered a free sample of proper ones. I dnt think I want to wet them yet.

I am also bladder incontinent, and I like diapers too because of it. A lifetime of wetting myself has developed into a pee fetish, so for me it's not so much about the diapers, though they are helpful and very comfortable, but about the the pee. I just LOVE that I can't help pissing on myself.

I am not, by any means, incontinent, but I do enjoy wearing diapers for the security, comfort and I also find that they are a stress release for me. Diapers are actually very resourceful to me when it comes to having my monthly periods. I don't want to gross anyone out here, but before I started wearing, I would always get stains on my underwear and occasionally waking up with stains on my bedsheets. Diapers, of course, don't do that and I just love the crinkling sound that they make. Makes me really wonder as to why I didn't start wearing earlier.
