Bambino Diaper Dry Weight vs Wet Weight

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Many people have asked me about a dry weight and wet weight comparison of Bambino Diapers with another premium diaper like Abenas.  Well, I didn’t do this experiment myself but somebody else did.  I am just reposting it from their post.  Keep in mind the experiment was done with water which is not completely accurate but still it ends up favoring Bambino and I will explain why Bambinos are even more favored if a proper solution was used that emulated urine more.  So here is the post:

“I tested the absolute absorbency of the Abena X-Plus and the Bambino Bianco by first weighing them dry and then weighing them after soaking them in water for 10 minutes, then letting them hang to dry for 10 minutes. I also did the same thing for the Abri-Let Maxi and the Bambino Quadro. I used a kitchen scale that measures to the closest 5g; not that it really mattered in the end, there was one very clear winner…

Dry weights:

Abena X-Plus – 185g
Bambino – 165g

Abri-Let Maxi – 70g
Bambino Quadro – 45g

Wet weights:

Abena X-Plus – 4255g
Bambino Bianco – ~6600g !! It actually exceeded the kitchen scale’s range so I weighed it on my bathroom scale (14lbs.) and converted the result.

Abri-Let Maxi – 620g – this had a lot of press out/runoff when I hung it up because it is mostly pulp. It also compressed in thickness as well.
Bambino Quadro – 1880g !! This one swelled to almost quadruple the thickeness of the Abri-Let !! I will post a picture to my gallery of the comparison. It is impressive considering the dry comparison pictures. “

So, this person experimented with water testing the absorbancy between Bambino Diapers and Abena.  They also tested the Bambino Quadro and Abri-let Maxi.  So, water is not a accurate representation of real urine.  If a saline solution (salt solution basically) which is more representative of urine was used then this would only make Bambino Diapers better.  Bambinos have made it clear they use a lot of polymer in their diaper (source: http://www.bambinodiapers.com/news/) and polymer reacts and absorbs better when a saline solution is used.  So, if the tests were done using a saline solution then the Bambino probably would have done even better than Abena using water. So, I guess the lesson we learned is that the dry weight thickness doesn’t always represent how absorbant it is.  It is more about the materials and technology used in the diaper that makes it more absorbant.  So, while the Abena may appear thicker DRY compared to the Bambino, the Bambino actually swells up larger and is MORE absorbant then Abena by a significant amount when actually WET.

Bambino Diapers NEW Website and Prices

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Wow.  I just noticed Bambino Diapers new website when I went to go order two more cases today.  Its truly amazing the site looks great AND they lowered their prices by about $10-$12 a case.  Truly phenomenal if you ask me.  They usually have a press release when they make changes and I found the press release so here it is:

BambinoDiapers.com Re-Launches Website, Offers Lower Pricing on Adult Baby Diapers

New prices for a new website, baby! Leading Adult Baby Products retailer BambinoDiapers.com creates a new customer-friendly website with lower prices to celebrate 2 successful years in business.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 2, 2009 — Leading adult baby products retailer BambinoDiapers.com launched a new customer-friendly, technology-driven website today. The website, a production of parent company The Bottom Half Group, LLC, also lowered its prices substantially on all of its popular items, including the best-selling Bambino Diapers adult baby products.

Originally launched in early 2007 as an alternative to mass-market diaper products, BambinoDiapers.com has always offered incredibly interesting products that appeal to adult babies and diaper lovers. Its two core product offerings – the printed Bambino Classico diaper and the all-white Bambino Bianco diaper – have propelled the website and the company to the top of the large adult baby diaper product market.

The company is celebrating the launch of its new website technology, which will allow customers to place orders more easily and track already-placed purchases, with a significant price reduction in its existing prices. Prices were lowered as much as 15%, making the new Bambino Diapers prices some of the most competitive prices on the internet for adult diapers, let alone adult baby diapers. The pricing is live now on the new BambinoDiapers.com website.

Giovanni Panno, marketing director for BambinoDiapers.com, notes that “our company has always been one about value and quality for our customers. We hope that the new website and price drop are the first step in what will be a wonderful year for Bambino customers, with new products and new community-oriented items coming soon!”

When asked for details regarding what new products or community features the company was proposing, Panno had no comment other than: “I know you’ll be excited. That’s all I can say!”
BambinoDiapers.com invites customers to visit its new website at BambinoDiapers.com for more information on its quality adult baby products, lower pricing, and new forthcoming community features.

For more information about the Bambino Diaper product line, please visit the online store at BambinoDiapers.com .

Its awesome and ground breaking if you ask me because Bambino Diapers is now even more competitive with their prices now.  Truly truly amazing if you ask me.

Improved Bambino Diaper vs “Older” Version Bambino Diaper

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Well, I have got many requests for comparing side by side the new Bambino Diaper to the older one.  Here is two comparison photos – take into account I already had opened this diaper but you should be able to get the general idea of the thickness comparison. (NOTE: I only have the Bambino Bianco diaper not the Classico in the new version – but its being compared to a Classico)

(NOTE: Thanks to DailyDiaper user YkDave for the first two images for comparison)

The new one is on the left and the “older” version is on the right…hopefully this helps some…I didn’t have very many of the new version but this is what I got – hopefully this helps :-)

Bambino Diapers Update-Review

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Well, with the recent news of the new inner-lining technology that Bambino Diapers has introduced and they have obviously taken feedback from customers because check out the Bambino Diapers now.  Take in mind I opened the diaper a little bit already but they have “loosened the core” to make the diaper back to that thicker feel and look like they originally had PLUS the new soft inner lining makes it absolutely amazing.  Take a look at the gallery below for some photos:

As you can see the diaper isn’t as compacted and is a lot thicker looking.  That is awesome that Bambino Diapers truly listens to their customers and is so focused on what they want.  Bambino Diapers proves over and over again that they can deliver an amazing product and that is why they are my favorite diapers :-) I know everyone has their own tastes and this just happens to be mine.  But, I really must tell you though – you must try them as the new lining – well its VERY SOFT – like it feels amazing against my skin and on my bottom.  Its very nice.  And as always the performance of these diapers are absolutely amazing.  But, I just wanted to share with everyone this quick review of the what I guess I would call the “revised” Bambino Diapers.  Try em – your gonna love em!

Cute Adult Onesie

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

I have fell in love with a onesie that I am highly considering buying.  It is so super cute.  You ever get that feeling with something that you just feel like you gotta have…well this is one of them for me.  I love this onesie.  It is a candy cane strip onesie that is absolutely adorable.  I haven’t ordered it yet because I am still debating on whether I want to spend the money and drop about $50 on it…which is considerably lower than what you would pay at Jumpin Jammerz though.  Here, you can check out a picture of it below:

j333-st-1As you can see they are super super cute.  Most onesies are either too boyish or too plain but these look perfect.  Though I have a little bit of an AB side, sometimes I feel like I just want to wear a not so AB onesie in which this would suffice very nicely.  It is not to plain but it is cute with its simple candy cane pattern.  Maybe I will wait for it to go on the clearance section of the site.  I haven’t ordered anything from this Adult Onesie site yet but I have heard good things about how they fit nicely over even a thick diaper like Bambino Diapers.  So, I think I may just have to get it.  They are from Pajama City – if anyone has ever ordered from them I would love to hear your reviews of what you think about their onesies before I purchase one myself.  I would really appreciate it.

Pampers Swipers Review

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I hadn’t done a review in awhile so I thought I would do a review on my favorite wipes.  They are called Pampers Swipers.  I use these all the time – I bought two normal containers of the wipes and then I just buy the refills for it which comes with 3 packs in 1 refill.  It saves you a lot of money if you buy refills instead of buying the whole container all over again.

These wipes are a lot bigger than the typical baby wipe.  They are lightly scented and they are Pampers’ biggest and thickest wipe.  60 wipes come in a container and contains no alcohol in them which is always important.  And as it states on the container it is “THICK and cleans big messes” – Thats right I’m not kidding – it says in the bottom left corner that it cleans big messes.  So, this is perfect if you want a baby wipe with the nice baby scent to it that can clean up anything from wiping clean after a wet diaper to cleaning big messes after a messy diaper.

I personally don’t use any other wipe unless I have to.  Once you use these wipes you really don’t want to go back to any other wipe because of how soft, nicely scented, large, and thick these wipes are.  For reference purposes, when I have a messy diaper it typically takes Peter about 5-8 wipes to clean me up which is way better than if we used the smaller wipes that are basically made for smaller babies.  They even make a travel pack if you want to stick it in your purse, car, or whatever and not have to carry the full container.  They are the best wipe I have come across for the price and they have that nice baby scent to it so it adds to the adult baby experience.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.

CosynDry Onesie Review

Monday, October 13th, 2008

I thought I would do a little bit different review today.  Instead of a diaper I thought I would review one of the onesies from CosynDry.  I have two onesies actually from them and they are basically the same just different designs but the one I have in particular is this one below and will be the one I am actually reviewing.

No, thats not me.  Though I wish my hair looked as silky and smooth as hers does.  Its just a model off of their website.  I will take a photo soon of me in one of their onesies and put it in the photography section when I get a chance.  Alright, well the onesie I would have to say is extremely comfortable and fitting.  Some of the onesies from other places I have tried are to big for me as I am descently skinny and most are made for men.  The size Small fits me beautifully.  Obviously it fits a little more snug when I have a thicker diaper on like a Bambino Diaper or Abri-Form X-plus or something like that.  But, it fits wonderfully.  The designs on it are super cute and definitely give you that babyish feel when you snap up the crotch.  The fabric is very soft and very snug feeling.  The leg openings actually fit my legs pretty well and are not too big.  My thighs are not very big but they are also not the skinniest (in my opinion) but the onesie fits it very well.  I have worn it to bed multiple nights and its not too hot and definitely keeps you a little warmer on cool nights.  Overall, this is probably the best onesie that I have and will definitely continue to order more in the future.  Obviously, everyone’s body is different but being 5′5″ and 112 lbs the onesie fits me good in a size small if thats any sort of measurement for others to compare with.  I am pretty skinny (athletic build).

Attends Waistband Diapers Review

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Attends have always been one of the most famous diapers out there for diaper lovers.  Granted, the old Attends were way better than the new attends.  The old attends with their 3 blue tapes and soft outer covering and a lot thicker than the newer attends.  Perfection right?  Yep, they were one of the best diapers of the time.  But, now Attends has multiple different styles of attends and today I am going to review one of my favorite Attends diaper in the diaper line.

Attends with waistband have 3 tapes on either side and a nice waistband to hold the diaper closer to your body.  They fit well and I have never experienced the cutting into my legs from the leg gatherings that many other diapers have done to me.  They aren’t the thickest of diapers but are thicker than depends but thinner than Bambino diapers.  They are a perfect diaper to wear to work or out to dinner or whatever you may be doing which is why they are my #1 normal diaper that I wear around.  Bambino’s are probably my favorite diaper but in regards to wearing a diaper around the majority of the time – its this diaper.  It is plastic-backed meaning it does NOT have the cloth-outer covering that I hate so much.  I like to hear the crinkle and let me tell you – this diaper knows how to crinkle.  In regards to how much the diaper can hold I would say it can hold 2 good wettings before you need to change which is probably pretty good for most people that don’t unleash a million floods on their diaper.  In regards to pooping in the diaper, it has ample space for the poopy to go (granted not as much as Bambino) but plenty.  The diaper is soft plastic, not as soft as the soft as the old one, but soft.  In my honest opinion, if you are looking for a good everyday diaper than this would be a phenomenal choice as its not too thin but not too thick either – it can be easily hidden under clothes.  If I were rating it on a overall scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best I would probably give it a 3.75.

Easier Diaper Cleanup

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Poopy diapers really are not that bad to clean up. I suggest personally that if you are a male that you shave your butt area. Peter does and it makes cleaning up his messes a ton easier. Here are some quick tips for shaving your butt area without the itch so famously known for after shaving (Peter does this and he hasn’t itched since):

  • Use Nair For Men to get rid of the outside butt hair off (not the inside as you are not suppose to get it close to your ‘anus’ per the instructions).
  • Use a hair trimmer or shaver to get rid of any excess and use to shave inside the crack area to get rid of a lot of the hairs.  This way it doesn’t cut into the root of the hair which causes a lot of the itching you experience.
  • Use a good moisturizer lotion afterwards and every time you get out of the shower all over your butt.
  • Always use baby powder when putting on a diaper or changing.
If you are looking for a good moisturizer I would suggest this one: Secura Moisturizing Lotion 8 Fluid Ounce Bottle
These are some helpful tips for making messy diaper changes easier to cleanup and also preventing that itchiness that comes with shaving.  Don’t use a razor as that will for sure cause you to itch down there and from experience (both Peter and I) – its not fun at all.

Biting my nails!

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

I am taking a quick break and pulling myself away from the Florida vs. Miami game to post real fast! haha I really am biting my nails at this one cause at this point we are winning but I would say it is still anyone’s game! Peter and I are having fun just sitting around in our diapers, drinking beer, and watching the game! :) hehe it is so relaxing and so much fun! Anyways so keep me in your thoughts becuase the next hour or so is going to be kind of stressful! Peter pulls for Florida but deep down he is a Texas Longhorns fan :) so he is not always a Florida fan but in games like this he will pull for them for me!

I read someone had commented about Gold Bond Medicated powder! I have used that to – actually Peter and I both have when we have had some diaper rash! it feels really weird at first when it starts to cool you down but then after a few minutes it is so soothing and really helps to take away the irriation! its good but not something to use all the time! So yes I agree about that!

Alright back to the game..Hugs!
