The Comfort Phenomenon

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Well sorry everyone for not posting in awhile, I have just been dealing with some family things as well as enjoying the holidays.  And I hope everyone else here had a great Thanksgiving if you live in the US.

Anyways, I thought I would post on something that I have noticed that I would almost label as a phenomenon and I am curious whether it happens to many others besides myself, Peter, and a few of our ABDL friends.  I have noticed that when it comes to messing in diapers, even though I am incontinent, I seem to actually only mess when I am somewhere that I am comfortable or familiar with.  Examples of places are my house, enclosed spaces, etc.  But, when I go somewhere like a movie theatre, restaurant, store, or something along those lines I find that I actually don’t mess as much.  Whether this is pure coincidence and timing or a real life phenomenon that you tend to poop when you are more comfortable is beyond my knowing.  I know its easier on Peter when he doesn’t have to change one of my poopy diapers when we are out and about (not that he minds), but I must say its easier to change poopy diapers on a bed or floor rather than a restroom or car.

I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this at all.  Though, I only probably have a small percentage of control of defecation, it is strange that I tend to mess the majority of the time at our house, the car, and for some reason enclosed spaces.  Possibly, it may have to do if when you remember when you were a little kid and you were playing hide-and-go-seek and you were hiding, I always remembered getting nervous and peeing in my diaper while hiding.  I don’t know if its the same concept possibly or just pure coincidence.  All I know is I had wet diapers everytime I played hide-and-go-seek.

So, I am referring to this as a comfort phenomenon just because my theory is somehow being in a comfortable area possibly does something “chemically” inside your body possibly to stimulate digestive movements or triggers other functions that relax the bowels even more.  Because, when I am in the comfortable place I don’t even know I pooped in my diaper most of the time because I most likely lose any small percentage of control I do have.  But, when I have messed in my diaper in a somewhat uncomfortable or unfamiliar place I can sort of feel it come on but I can’t control it or do anything about it.  Its honestly hard to describe this phenomenon and incontinence unless you have it but I did my best to describe it and how it feels.  Just curious if anyone else has noticed anything similar in this respect?

Acceptance of Adult Diapers Elsewhere

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I wanted to link to an article that I thought represented the thought of adult diapers to many others around the world and the notion of how they are not such a “taboo” thing.  Here is the link: Dongfang Billy Wears Adult Diapers .  It is just a article about a famous artist that was diagnosed with leukemia and as a PRECAUTION was instructed by doctors to wear adult diapers.  Honestly, how many doctors around here or much less people would be willing to wear an adult diaper out of precaution.  Most people in the US won’t consider wearing an adult diaper unless they are practically leaking feces out of themselves or wetting uncontrollably everyday.

It goes to show that even someone who is in the public eye a lot is not afraid to let others know that he is wearing diapers.  Yes, it is for medical reasons but the notion of how ‘free’ and ‘open’ he is about it goes to show the mindset of people in places like Asia.  I know I am making a huge generalization here but when do you see articles like this in the USA news unless its riddled with negativity or involving some sort of crime.

He also is continuing to teach a fitness class even though he has to wear a diaper for it.  And his reason…it will make him exercise basically.  There is not even a mention of emberassment there.  Most people if they have to wear a diaper will hide that diaper like they are hiding gold.  The only way this wearing of diapers is going to stop being an extreme taboo is if the people who must wear diapers and who enjoy wearing diapers act like it is not a big deal – as well as not blatantly doing stupid acts such as robbing a store wearing a diaper (gives us all a bad name).  Just thought the article was quite interesting and thought I would share incase you hadn’t heard.

Pampers Swipers Review

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I hadn’t done a review in awhile so I thought I would do a review on my favorite wipes.  They are called Pampers Swipers.  I use these all the time – I bought two normal containers of the wipes and then I just buy the refills for it which comes with 3 packs in 1 refill.  It saves you a lot of money if you buy refills instead of buying the whole container all over again.

These wipes are a lot bigger than the typical baby wipe.  They are lightly scented and they are Pampers’ biggest and thickest wipe.  60 wipes come in a container and contains no alcohol in them which is always important.  And as it states on the container it is “THICK and cleans big messes” – Thats right I’m not kidding – it says in the bottom left corner that it cleans big messes.  So, this is perfect if you want a baby wipe with the nice baby scent to it that can clean up anything from wiping clean after a wet diaper to cleaning big messes after a messy diaper.

I personally don’t use any other wipe unless I have to.  Once you use these wipes you really don’t want to go back to any other wipe because of how soft, nicely scented, large, and thick these wipes are.  For reference purposes, when I have a messy diaper it typically takes Peter about 5-8 wipes to clean me up which is way better than if we used the smaller wipes that are basically made for smaller babies.  They even make a travel pack if you want to stick it in your purse, car, or whatever and not have to carry the full container.  They are the best wipe I have come across for the price and they have that nice baby scent to it so it adds to the adult baby experience.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Pampers Swipers: Buy Pampers Swipers Here or you can find them in any grocery store, drug store, Walmart, or Target.

Bringing Adult Diapers Mainstream

Monday, November 10th, 2008

"The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well"

Ever since I have worn diapers even though I do not care much what others think, I have always dreamt of ways to bring the adult diaper phenomenon into mainstream society.  I truly think it can be done.  I would love to be able to normalize in society to a greater extent the wearing of adult diapers.  I think this can be done.  Signs of it are already present in societies such as Japan wear adult diapers are way more normal for such practical reasons as long train rides.  So, why not in other places?

Though most people will not say anything if they ‘catch’ you wearing a diaper as if they have any conscious or understanding they would most likely assume its for personal health reasons.  But, I truly believe that the adult diaper wearing notion can be brought into the limelight for more practical reasons and deserve more understandings.

This not only requires a mindset change from people outside the community but also a ABDL community effort to represent adult diapers and the wearing of adult diapers in a more light hearted and practical manner.  It will require a grassroots campaign from everyone from diaper product makers such as Bambino Diapers to the community of ABDL’s.  I am determined to bring the ABDL community into a better light with mainstream society and I plan to make great efforts to do this.  I will be keeping everyone updated on things I will be doing and have done on my blog so stay tuned because this is going to happen – I am determined.

Tennis with Peter and Friends

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

While I must admit that I do not exercise as much as I should I do enjoy showing off my awfully poor tennis skills.  Everyone has a good laugh at me.  I went to play tennis last weekend with Peter and some of my girlfriends.  We played doubles against one another with Peter playing with my best friend and me playing with my other girlfriend, whom I won’t name but we will just call her “Ditsy” (I am sure you can gather why I choose to call her that).  But, any how needless to say we got crushed…he sure does love to serve the ball where I can never get to it which admittedly is probably EVERYWHERE.  But, it was a good workout I would say.  Got my heartrate up – heck yeh!

The photo above is when Peter and I were walking back to our townhouse.  Gotta love the Nike shorts though – they actually make my legs look good.  I probably actually look like a serious athlete (which I’m not – I wish).  I figured people would like a nice workout photo with me in a diaper so I made sure Peter brought his camera this time and sure enough we got some shots!

FYI: The bigger image of the above image is on the Photography Page.

Diapered and Disabled

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I recently have been getting a fair amount of comments from people that have varying disabilities from Multiple Sclerosis to Cron’s disease.  While myself and many others do suffer from incontinence – suffering from a more disabling disease such as multiple sclerosis presents new and unique problems when it comes to diapers.  I am very sympathetic to people with such diseases as life presents a great deal of difficulties not only in the diaper area but also in other areas.

What amazes me is the fact that I have been getting a fair amount of comments and emails from people that were never involved in the ABDL community but have these diseases and stumbled across my review of Bambino Diapers.  I have gotten a great deal of praise for leading them to a diaper that solves a great deal of the problems that store-brand diapers just don’t solve.  This makes me feel very warm and fuzzy inside for multiple reasons.  First, I helped someone which I always enjoy doing and solving their problem by referring them to a product that can truly help them.  Second, some of them have even discovered the ABDL community which they never knew existed and have found a level of comfort in conversing with people that are in their same situation or at least can relate on a disabled or interest level, with interests being diapers.

Getting comments and emails really encourages me a lot in what I do especially when I help people that need it the most.  Whether its referring them to a specific product or just giving them someone to converse and talk to and relate to – I really truly do enjoy helping people out.  I just wanted to share that as I am a big believer in promoting the goodness within the ABDL community and the amazing products that not only enhance our community but also can benefit others outside our community.
